Update of identity document data

According to the applicable law1, our ability to provide services to our clients (e.g. execute transactions ordered) is conditional upon us having your current data, especially those stated on your identity document.

If the information concerning an identity document remains out of date in our system, some services, such as card transactions, transfers from a bank account or access to Citibank Online and CitiPhone, may be blocked.

Check whether your identity document data is up to date in our system and, if necessary, update the number and expiry date of the document to allow us to continue providing services to you.

How can you update your identity document data?



Do you hold an ID card issued in Poland or do you use some other identity document (passport, residence card)?


Check whether your identity document data is up to date in Citibank Online. In order to do that, log in to Citibank Online and update your data.


How can you update your data in Citibank Online?

  • Log in to Citibank Online.
  • Go to the section Services and Profile > My Profile > Change your data.
  • Make sure the data is up to date (contact details and address, identity document data) – if not, enter your current data and click Next.

If you are unable to check whether the data is up to date, contact CitiPhone.

Remember that to update your data, you only need to log in to Citibank Online and fill in the ID card change form. The bank will not ask you to take any other steps, such as installing additional software or certificates, providing card information or calling the provided telephone number. Any such additional requests should be regarded as potential fraud threats and immediately reported to the Bank.

If your document is out of date – do one of the following steps:

  1. Go to our branch and change the document. The list of branches is available here.
  2. Send the original notarial confirmation issued by a notary public in Poland along with a copy of the document (scan of the pages with passport number and series is enough).
  3. Send the original notarial confirmation issued by a notary public abroad along with a copy of the passport (scan of the pages with passport number and series is enough). Additionally, a document certifying the legal use of a notary's signature in another country should be added (for countries that are party to the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization of Foreign Public Documents, made on October 5, 1961, it will be the Apostille clause).
  4. Send the original notarial confirmation issued by the consul of the Republic of Poland together with a copy of the document (scan of the pages with passport number and series is enough).
  5. If you have a valid ID card issued in Poland, you can change your passport to ID card by contacting CitiPhone.The dedicated CitiPhone line 22 692 2090 is available from 09:00 to 17:00. Cost of the call in accordance with the operator tariff.

For documents issued outside of the Republic of Poland, it is necessary to submit a Polish translation made by a Polish sworn translator.

How can you update your data in Citibank Online?

  • Log in to Citibank Online.
  • Go to the section Services and Profile > My Profile > Change your data.
  • Make sure the data is up to date (contact details and address, identity document data) – if not, enter your current data and click Next.

OR

  • Log in to Citibank Online.
  • Select the tab Contact Us in the top menu.
  • Go to the section My Documents and click “Send Document”.
  • Select the type of instruction (Change Representative’s Data).
  • Fill in the document, print it out, sign it in accordance with the rules of representation of the company and the specimen signature submitted at the Bank and attach the document.
  • Approve the operation with an SMS code.
