1900 Citi Handlowy volunteers helped communities all over Poland

On November 17, Global Community Day, in 36 cities and towns across Poland, 1,900 volunteers - Citi Handlowy employees, family and friends - participated in 71 projects across Poland, helping 30,000 people in need. Slawomir S. Sikora, Citi Handlowy CEO said: "The participation of many of our employees in Global Community Day is a reason to be happy as this is yet another confirmation that our employees are strongly attached to their local communities. That also demonstrates the enormous success of our Employee Volunteer Program. We believe that volunteering time and talent combines with financial support to make a positive difference in our communities."


51 projects submitted by the Bank's employees from 36 towns and cities were awarded by the Jury of the competition "Volunteer to Bank On! The awarded projects received donations up to 5 000 pln (2 000 $) each from the Bank. In addition, special mentions and extra funding were awarded to 6 projects: "My Room = My World", "The Past and The Future - Our Combatants in Berlin", "Adventure in Warsaw", "The Charm of Brass Bands", "Health Education for Women in Braniewo", "A Smile for Carpe Diem".


In addition, The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation in cooperation with Junior Achievement Foundation organized financial education workshops From Pound to Penny, aiming at teaching 8-year-old kids how to manage money.


As part of the Citi Global Community Day our volunteers also organized a blood drive. The project called Blood Relatives from the Bank was organized in cooperation with Regional Blood Centers.
