Citi and Citi Handlowy Mentors on Women in Tech Summit

8636 participants from 103 countries, 160 mentors, workshops, speeches of Key Note Speakers - all these things happened during the Women in Tech Summit, with the Kronenberg Foundation at Citi Handlowy as its main partner. It is the biggest European conference for women that already work or aim to work in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math).

Among Key Note Speakers, Citi was represented by Kristine Braden, Managing Director Europe Cluster Head, CEO of CGME. During a fireside chat hosted by the CEO & Country CCO of Citi Handlowy, she talked about her professional career, what motivated her and how she has become one of the most senior women in banking.

One of the panelists of the Leadership in times of permanent uncertainty and deepening crisis panel was Katarzyna Majewska, Member of the Management Board of Citi Handlowy. In her speech, she emphasized how Citi had quickly adapted to the new conditions (enabling the vast majority of employees to work remotely), taking particular care of the employer-employee relationship at such a difficult time for everyone.

During the What COVID showed us about diversity and inclusion? panel, Peter Lacek, Director of Global Audit Methodology & Head of Audit at Citi Poland, discussed with Merrion Edwards, PhD, Corning and Peter Wolfenden from Cisco the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the society and also on their organizations. As regards Citi, Peter Lacek emphasized the special importance of affinity networks such as Citi Women, Women in Technology and Pride Network.

However, that is not all that happened during the conference. Karol Goleń from Citi Handlowy and Katarzyna Bazylczyk ran workshops, while 7 mentors from Citi and Citi Handlowy made themselves available to the participants of the conference. Visitors could also come to a stand where they were able to look through job offers and talk to recruiters.

Also, another edition of the Shesnnovation Academy project organized by the "Perspektywy" Educational Foundation and the Citi Foundation with professional support of the Citi Handlowy Foundation was opened during the conference.

The Women in Tech Summit 2020 also saw the finale of the IT for SHE program, which supports young women in starting a career in IT. For more than six months, 6 mentors from Citi and Citi Handlowy developed a mentoring relationship with and supported their mentee in choosing a professional career.

We would like to thank and congratulate all mentors, Citi and Citi Handlowy experts for their participation!
