Can I afford my own business? - 6th Conference of the Network of Entrepreneurial Women

On May 27 the 6th Conference of the Network of Entrepreneurial Women will take place in Warsaw, during which participants will be able to find out how to finance an idea for a business. During the event, whose main partner is The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation, experts/practitioners will share their knowledge on various ways of financing the startup and development of a business. The co-organizer of the conference is the City of Warsaw.

The program of the 6th Conference of the Network of Entrepreneurial Women includes both presentations and workshop seminars, during which participants will have an opportunity to learn about various financial instruments, loans, and grants, as well as angel investors, seed funds, and venture capital funds. The invited experts will also talk about social financing, or crowdfunding, in the context of raising capital for a company's operations.

"Currently, according to PARP* data, every third business in Poland is run by a woman. At the European Union level, our country has one of the highest rates of female entrepreneurship among economically active persons. Polish women comprise a large group of entrepreneurs, but it is still worthwhile to support their knowledge, which enables the growth of already existing businesses. This is exactly what Conferences of the Network of Entrepreneurial Women encourage by enabling contact with women who have successfully run their own business", says Krzysztof Kaczmar, President of The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation.

All through the event, experienced businesswomen, Mentors of the Network of Entrepreneurial Women, as well as leaders of start-ups, will share their thoughts on skillful investment of money in one's business.

"Women who run their own businesses stress that they are able to reconcile roles and find a balance between their professional and family lives. However, the decision to start working on one's own is often postponed because of their fears or lack of knowledge about where to start when setting up a business. Conferences of the Network of Entrepreneurial Women respond precisely to this need - they provide tools and knowledge, as well as motivation for implementing one's ideas. This time we are also exploring the topic of external financing. We see the need for broader education in this area," says Katarzyna Wierzbowska, President of the Foundation for Women's Entrepreneurship.
