Win the Citi Microentrepreneurship Award 2015!

A successive edition of the Citi Microentrepreneurship Award has been launched. The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation will, for the eleventh time, present awards to top Polish microbusinesses. This year, the contest has a new category - "YOUNG BUSINESS" - designed specifically with young entrepreneurs in mind.

The Citi Microentrepreneurship Award is addressed to businesses employing fewer than 10 workers, with annual sales or a balance sheet total not exceeding EUR 2 million. Entrants choose one of three categories:

  • START - for microentrepreneurs who registered their business after 1 January 2012,
  • PROGRESS - for microentrepreneurs who registered their business between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2011,
  • SENIOR - for microentrepreneurs who registered their business before 1 January 2008.

From among the submitted entries, the Contest Jury will award a prize in the special category - YOUNG BUSINESS - addressed to microentrepreneurs born after 1 January 1986.

"Young people have a huge potential. They are most eager to adopt innovative solutions in their businesses and to conquer new markets. Observing the development of microenterprises over the 11 years of the Citi Microentrepreneurship Award, this year we have decided to launch a separate category for young businessmen. We want to recognize their past efforts and encourage them to seek new challenges", says Krzysztof Kaczmar, President of the Management Board of The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation.

To take part in the eleventh edition of the contest, entrants must complete the form available on the website mikroprzedsiebiorcaroku.pl. The deadline for submitting entry forms is 20 April 2015. From among all the entries, the Contest Jury will select the winner of the Citi Microentrepreneurship Award 2015, who will receive the main prize - PLN 40,000. In addition, the Contest Jury will present awards of PLN 10,000 to the winners in categories: START, PROGRESS, and YOUNG BUSINESS.

The Citi Microentrepreneurship Award 2015 is a contest aimed to reward the owners of successful traditional or modern businesses rooted in communities.

Previous winners encourage participation in the contest; their experience has shown that winning and the title received have a positive impact on their business. In 2014, the Citi Microentrepreneurship Award went to SANT-TECH, a manufacturer of sand blasting equipment, e.g. sand and grit-blasting machines used in many branches of industry. The impulse to set up the business came from the owner's observation of how Japanese companies are managed. Attention to every detail and a holistic approach to doing business have proved to be the key to success. "The prize won in the contest allowed us to make new investments. And the prestigious title provided an incentive and encouragement for me to continue to put my heart into growing the company", says Cyprian Marcisz, the founder of SANT-TECH.

Janusz Piechociński, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy, is the honorary patron of the contest.
