What happened during 2012 Citi Global Community Day?

Citi Handlowy volunteers delivered 97 original projects, in the "Volunteer o Bank On" contest, joining forces in a broad variety of undertakings to help children, adults, handicapped people, and animals. They performed renovation and construction works in an open-air museum, built doghouses in animal shelters, renovated various facilities for children, etc. They also conducted workshops for children, teaching photography, music, animation techniques, first aid and many more.
Besides the "Volunteer to Bank On" projects Citi Handlowy volunteers were also involved in additonal projects such as:

Blood Brothers from Citi Handlowy - blood donations were organized in five locations - one in each: Pruszków, Che³m ¦l±ski, Olsztyn; and two in Warsaw. The involvement of 203 volunteers helped to collect over 80 litres of blood.

Hocki-Klocki - 18 art workshops for children, offering them the opportunity to develop their artistic skills in a unique and entertaining style. Children received training in decoupage, made eco-bags, painted with their fingers and worked with salt dough. The workshops were held in preschool facilities, schools and daycare and child support centres.

Visit to Brzezie - a group of volunteers visited Leopold Kronenberg's palace currently housing an education and child support centre. It took the volunteers one day to repaint four rooms, build a place for bonfires and tidy up the area around the palace. They also conducted special, unique style workshops for the children: with physical exercises, cooking, visual arts and fashion. The day ended in all participants competing in an outdoor game on the theme of history of Brzezie palace and Leopold Kronenberg.

'We have been coordinating employee volunteering at Citi Handlowy for seven years now,' says Krzysztof Kaczmar, President of Board, The Citi Handlowy Leopold Kronenberg Foundation ant Citi Handlowy. 'The program takes a variety of shapes - community campaigns and projects. It combines the natural desire to help others with professional tools that simplify the organization and management of volunteering work. This way all parties benefit. People who need help receive it and the organization strengthens its internal social bonds. It also brings business profits - adds to the brand image and strengthens employee engagement. This is only possible when the employee volunteering program is carefully planned and executed with commitment.
